Finishing the cruise – last CTD station and a glider recovery

by Penny Holliday

We’re presently steaming into Reykjavik, finishing off processing some data, and packing our kit up again. There are minke whales and puffins in the water, and the fog that was surrounding us yesterday has finally lifted. Spirits are high because yesterday we finished all our work – we did a last CTD station to complete the section, and recovered a glider that has been spending the last few months running the same line from Scotland to Iceland.

It’s been another great trip on RRS Discovery – everyone has worked hard and cheerfully together and we have got a fantastic set of data, and some happy memories to take home.
